Back 2 Roots: moving home without losing the career
Back 2 Roots connects professionals relocating from major metros back to their hometowns, pairing a job board of local opportunities with mentorship from people who have already made the move.
The challenge
Plenty of metro professionals want to move back home, and the jobs exist, but they are scattered and invisible from a metro. The move also comes with questions no job listing answers: salary expectations, company culture outside the big cities, whether the move works at all. There was no place where the jobs and the people who had already made the jump lived together.
What we built
- A job board focused on opportunities in members' hometowns, not the metros
- Community features so members compare notes on cities, companies, and salaries
- Mentorship connections with professionals who have already relocated
What changed
The relocation stopped being a leap in the dark. Members browse real hometown openings and talk to someone who has already made the same move before they commit to it.
